Travel theme: Summer ~ Monas

As you probably know, here in this tropical country like Indonesian, there is no such thing as season. There is no summer, fall, winter, or spring. We originally have two season: rainy and sunny. We originally have two seasons actually: wet/rainy and dry/sunny, penghujan and kemarau in Indonesian. Penghujan is April to September, when there’s mostly rain (and prob.flood) in that time. Kemarau is October to March when there’s mostly day with bright sun in that time. But due to global warming (maybe), now we face the same phenomenon all time of the year. Random weather.

So, when Ailsa invite me to join her photo challenge themed summer, I was blank. Even the official one give that theme one week later. I have no experience in summer yet. But It is a travel theme, isn’t it? Then, I decide to post a photo about my trip to National Monument, Jakarta. Jakarta is very hot, an embodiment of summer, maybe.

National Monument (Monas) is our country proud of independence.

And this is the participant of our trip. We take this photo in a park near the monument. We tried to make “walk in air picture” originally, but it seemed we failed miserably due to lack of good camera.

That is my travel on summer (August is Summer right?), two years ago. What is your summer travel?
Check what others think here and here in the official one.

And if summer means beaches for you, I have some beautiful summer beach from Indonesia: Danau Toba, North SumateraMutun Coast, LampungKelapa Rapat, Lampung; Krui Beach, Bengkulu/Lampung. Maybe you love it, that’s all I have though.

  9. Ohhh I am glad to see you “sesama bangsa Indonesia” 😀 Really surprise.
Monas, salah satu kebanggaan bangsa Indonesia. Terakhir saya melihatnya ketika pesawat take-off tahun 2010. @Albadr, terimakasih banyak sudah mampir di blog saya, wow really menyenangkan 😀

    • Wait, what? Orang Indonesia toh. Pas mampir gak sadar. Hehe, makasih sudah mampir balik.
Senang banget ketemu orang Indonesia di blog, agak jarang nemu yang ikut photo challenge ginian sih. Makasih mbak.

  10. That monument in Jakarta looks wonderful, Albadr, and having fun trying to catch photos walking in the air – that is a perfect summer picture. Thanks for joining in the travel theme! xxx Ailsa

  11. I love the 1st photo. I’ve only been to Jakarta once, & a long time ago, and while I saw some wonderful places, I didn’t see this. Thanks for posting 🙂
